The Elite-Modern side of Amman: Shameisani

|

The one hour and forty-five minutes Jeepy ride was a great and indeed a fruitful memorable experience for all of us. We finally reached the meeting point at around 15:30 hours. Harir has been waiting to bring us back to Amman via Aqaba-Amman Desert Highway. Our energy was drained out and we were horribly exhausted. Amid the chilly evening, we all slept almost the entire journey. It was raining as we were approaching Amman, which woke us up. It was time to wake up anyway.
Alhamdullillah Salamah, we finally arrived at Amman around 19:00 hours. After the hectic 3.5 hours drive, we deserved a good decent place to retire tonight and definitely good dinner.
The rain has stopped and the ambience temperature was around 11 degrees centigrade. The gushing wind, however, further chilled the evening thus making it icy cold.
We stayed at Al-Mannar Hotel, situated along the AbdulHameed Street within the elite and modern Amman, Shameisani. The checking-in was efficiently done. The staff sincerely greeted us, which energized our mood and self-esteem. Minutes later, he called one of his junior staff to handle our luggage. Our rooms were at the same floor, very spacious and equipped with all necessary things, such as, heater, fridge, TV, etc. And, most importantly the beds were excellent.
Around the hotels, within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance, there were varieties of restaurants – the fast food, the local shawirma-kebab restaurant, the Western-European origins, etc. I think, mainly because of the rain, there were not many people patronizing the area.
We decided and tried Ata Ali – the Arabic cuisine. We ordered Arabic rice, chicken grilled, beef grilled, kofta, Jordanian Mushroom beef soup, salad, etc. The Supervisor, I believed, spoke fluent English was very reliable and efficient. We asked for 7 plates of Arabic rice, but instead he served us two large rectangular plates that could be consumed by 10 Malaysians. Except for the extra bowl of soup, which was offered FOC, and few scoops of the Arabic rice, all the dishes, salad, etc. were cleaned swept by us – the Seven Hungry monsters. All those cost us about 55 JD! Unbelievable. Alhamdullillah.
The energized and fresh faces of Nana, Ayman and Afiqah…after the heavy dinner. After our group discussion at the restaurant, strategizing our next chapter of our trip – Experiencing the Greatness of Allah swt, we went back to the hotel and retired at around 10:30 hours, except me @ 11:00 hours That was our last night at Jordan. Alhamdullillah. Allahumma Bismika wa amutu wa ahya.
