....15 minutes Walk through Abu Nour district

|

Alhamdullillah salamah. After the fascinating ride along the narrow alleyway, we reached the minivan’s station at the Mount Qasiyun foot at 10:45 hours. We decided to walk through Abu Nour district expected to reduce some calories from the lamb and chicken beriyani.
We had a brief stop at the modern cotemporary bus-taxi stands. It was well maintained and cleaned, no sign of vandalism and equipped with a comprehensive map of Damascus – for tourist and local alike. There was nobody there though at that time, so we spent few minutes listening to Azmi’s story about the district. He explained there are number of Malaysian study at one of the Islamic Colleges here. In general, the cleanliness of this serene district was commendably remarkable and the area is well organized. However, what really pleasing and impressed us was the hospitality and the natural beauty of the people.
