TP20: Inkaya 600 years old Tree at Bursa

Instead of ascending to the Uludag peak, we descended to a place called Inkaya, a small old village inhabited by 85 families. It is said Inkaya is one of the oldest villages in Bursa founded by the Ottoman. After 15 minutes through sharp corners winding road along the Uludag foot, we finally arrived at the entrance of this village at around 16:15 hours. We had to walk for about 5 minutes to the touristic spot. We walked through the spectacular old, unique but charming nostalgic houses and buildings before finally reached the huge 600 years old plane tree. There are few restaurants, souvenirs shops, bazaar, etc. around the tree.
Subhanallah – Glory only to Allah. The size, well the tree amazed us all. Its diameter is about 3 meters and its circumference is about 9 meters while its maximum height is about 35 meters. The tree has attracted millions of Locals and foreigners alike.
Other thing that we observed here was, most of its inhabitants are elderly with few percentage are teenagers or children. And, most of the women and ladies, I would say 98% of them covered their hair complying to the Allah swt rules.
We spent around 30 minutes here wandering around the tree and had a hot sweet Turkish Sehlab – an energy booster, at the restaurant before we descended further to the Ulu Camii – the Grand Masjid.
