The Plight of Gaza

|

Volume 11:Number 1:Winter 2009: HeMagazine reminds me the Israel Defense Force (IDF) invasion to the humble piece of land – Gazah more than four months ago. What has actually attracted me in this edition is one of its highlights – The Plight of Gaza: Shame on the World. Akin my thought, its Managing Editor cum Publisher, Amr Selim, saying it aloud in the preface: “we say Shame on the World and not Shame on the Israelites because for the last 40 years the Israelites have been using their massive limitary power against children armed with rocks in Palestine without compunction, so there is no point in blaming them now. We say shame on the Palestine leaders who cannot unite so they cannot defend their land in war or protect it in peace the best way possible. Shame on the Arabs who fight each with other and have lost sight of their goals; they argue about who has done more for the Palestinians and who should lead the Arab summit while the people of Gaza dodge bullets. Shame on the rest of the world, especially in the so called liberal West, who demonstrate for and spend millions on animal rights and talk constantly about human rights and do nothing to urge their governments to help the Palestinians”.
