Asfour Crystal: Local Brand,World Class Standard

I am not that craze with crystal. Besides, few local made and Bohemians that I received from company’s events/functions and golf tournaments, I have few sets of one of the top 10 crystal manufacturer in the world, the Asfour crystal.
Asfour Crystal is another local Egypt brand name that has more than 30 outlets around the globe.
Last weekend, we went to its plant and showroom located at the Industrial zone, Shoubra El-Khema, Cairo. It was my third visit though, roaming around its 2000 square meters splendid showroom, which is said to be one of the most beautiful crystals’ galleries in the world, in case some of its latest edition might have attracted me. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos inside the showroom. However, shared below are my personal collections of the Asfour crystal.
Historically, since 5000 years ago, Egypt has pioneered the art and technology of manufacturing crystal and cutting it into inspired shapes.
In the twentieth century and until now Asfour Crystal Company has innovated and completed what the ancestors had begun.

The company was established in 1961 in the city of Cairo on an area of 2200 square meters with merely 200 workers and simple tank kilns (ovens) as the production tools.

Today, it premises covers 300,000 square meters of the Shoubra industrial zone and provides more than 20,000 employments to the locals comprises of most selected group of consultants, technicians, administrators and skilled workers. Using the most sophisticated latest tools, the plant produces more than 100 tons of crystal per day, which makes the company become one of the major international manufacturers for the finest quality of transparent and colored full lead crystal (more than 30% PbO) in the world
The company exports more than 98% of its production to many countries all over the world through a network of recognized distributors.

Besides the commendable hospitality and services, the price, one of the most important aspects, is relatively reasonable as compared to the Bohemian, Swarovski, Preciosa, NovaScotian, to name a few.
