It is Hard to be Separated but this is Fact of Life

This year the British School of Alexandria organized their annual summer camp at el Hammra, Wadi Natrun, Eastern desert, along the Alexandria- Cairo Desert road. All Year 5 students are encouraged to participate and so does Ayman. Albeit his awareness on the condition of the place and foods, he was so excited about the trip and overwhelmed by the program lined up by the organizer. He made all the preparations since few months ago based on the checklist given by the school, and even he planned to bring along his mom’s exercise mate. However, yesterday was the climax of his preparation – he got all the things packed in his Adidas Trainer’s bag plus the Pyramid brand sleeping bag.
Today, amid the bright sky, the ambience at apartment 41, Kafr Abdou is gloomy with some drops of summer rain falling from the sky. This morning he woke up early at 07:05 am to greet and gave me his farewell kiss before I left for office. One and a half hour later, Nana and Afiqah with Sheriff, sent him to the waiting point at the School. Before he left, he thanked his ‘uncle’ Sheriff and said: I am going to miss you uncle Sherif; he kissed his lovely sister Afiqah good bye, which shed tears both Afiqah and Nana. This is his first time away alone for 3 days and 2 nights from his brothers, Afiqah, Nana and I, thus the feeling are so much affected. Well, sometime we have to be away for a while to appreciate the relationship and camaraderie that we have built.
This reminds me about of the Prophet Muhammad saw (peace be upon him) companion named El Ayub El Ansari. When the great Prophet (peace be upon him) and Abu Bakar As-Sidiq ra arrived in Madinah after their hectic hijrah journey, the overwhelmed Ansarian – local Madinah people offered them house or place to stay. Each one wishing to have the honor of the Prophet alighting and staying at his house. However, to be fair to everybody, the holy Prophet Muhammad saw (peace be upon him) decided to use his camel to ‘choose’ the house for him. The Prophet stayed in Abu Ayyub's house for almost seven months until his mosque was completed on the open space where his camel had stopped. He moved to the rooms, which were built around the mosque for himself and his family. He thus became a neighbour of Abu Ayyub. What a noble neighbour to have had! To cut the long story short, the camel stopped at Al-Ayub’s house. He was so thankful and excited that he said, I want to live and die together with the Habibullah (peace be upon him). Nevertheless, for the sake of Islam, ultimately for Allah Rabbul Jalil, the Prophet asked him Al Ayub Al Ansari to go to the Byzantine, later Constantinople, which now called Istanbul to spread the Islamic teaching. Eventually, he died at the age of 80 and buried at a place called Golden Horn, Istanbul.
Wish Ayman an enjoyable summer camp, safe trip back home, InsyaAllah.
