About 100 meters from Masjid Altinbugha al Maridani at the north end of the al Tabanna Street is Masjid Ahmad al Mihmandar. Next to it is sabil kuttab Muhammad Katkhuda Mustahfizan located right at the corner and the meeting point of al Tabanna Street and Darb el Ahmer Street.That was the end of the first phase of my adventure of this nostalgic historic Cairo.
The monuments, the Masjid and the sabil kuttab are in a very sad despair condition. The top portion of the minaret had been ‘flown’ and ‘blown’ away by couldn’t careless ‘wind’. The rib dome though is still intact and the Masjid is still hesitantly functioning.
